Secretary of State Steve Simon was in Mankato at the VINE Adult Community Center on February 13 to speak about voter registration and election safeguards and security.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
He called Minnesota “the champion of voter turnout nationally” because of good laws, a good voting culture, accessibility, and tested, effective security protocols.\u00a0 He detailed the many layers of scrutiny a voter registration goes through before a voter’s name is placed on the Statewide Voter Registration System.\u00a0 <\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, he referenced the State Voter Registration\/Elections website, which has a wealth of material about the ways in which voter registrations are processed and elections are secured.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Secretary Simon makes it a point to visit every one of Minnesota’s 87 counties at least once every year to connect\u00a0with Minnesotans.\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
